Anah (Ay┬┤nuh)

1 One of the eight sons of Seir the Horite; he was a tribal chieftain of the Horites, ancient inhabitants of the area of Edom (Gen 36:20; 1Chr 1:38). 2 A nephew of 1 above and the father-in-law of Esau (Gen 36:2). He was known for his discovery of a hot spring in the desert (Gen 36:24).

20These are the sons of Seir the Horite, the inhabitants of the land: Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah,

38The sons of Seir: Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah, Dishon, Ezer, and Dishan.

2Esau took his wives from the Canaanites: Adah daughter of Elon the Hittite, Oholibamah daughter of Anah son of Zibeon the Hivite,

Gen 36:24

24These are the sons of Zibeon: Aiah and Anah; he is the Anah who found the springs in the wilderness, as he pastured the donkeys of his father Zibeon.
