assassins (Uh-sas´uhnz; Gk. sikarioi; Lat. sicarii, from sica, “dagger”)

According to Josephus a Jewish revolutionary group operating against the Romans and their collaborators prior to the revolt of 66 CE. In (Acts 21:38), Paul is mistakenly thought to be one of their leaders.

Acts 21:38

38Then you are not the Egyptian who recently stirred up a revolt and led the four thousand assassins out into the wilderness?”
