A Hebrew name meaning female Judean or Jewess. 1 The daughter of Beeri the Hittite (despite her Hebrew name) and wife of Esau. 2 The heroine of the apocryphal/deuterocanonical book of Judith, a widow who killed the Assyrian Holophernes and saved her city from destruction.
