Shalman (Shal´muhn)

A ruler mentioned in (Hos 10:14). The name may be an abbreviation for Assyria’s king Shalmaneser (IV or V), or it may refer to the Moabite monarch Shalmanu, who invaded Gilead in the late eighth century.
