    Michael Peppard is professor of theology at Fordham University. He received his PhD in Religious Studies from Yale University and does research on the New Testament and other early Christian sources in their social, political, artistic, and ritual contexts. He is the author of The Son of God in the Roman World (Oxford, 2011) and The World’s Oldest Church (Yale, 2016).
