Naioth

Nay´yoth

A place in or near Ramah in the tribal area of Benjamin, a short distance north of Jerusalem, where David, fleeing Saul, took refuge with Samuel and the prophets associated with him (1Sam 19:18). Saul’s messengers, sent to Naioth to take David, became imbued with the prophetic spirit, as did Saul himself when he followed (1Sam 19:20-24).
