1 The third son of Ham (Gen 10:6; 1Chr 1:8). 2 A region in Africa, probably located in Libya. Warriors from Put fought on the side of the Ethiopians and Egyptians when the Assyrians captured No-amon (Thebes) in 663 BCE (Nah 3:9; Ezek 30:5).
